The Goodness of God (Exodus)
Series: Exodus: The Redeeming of a People

Last week we saw Israel's impatience lead to faithlessness. When Moses was up on the mountain for too long, the people made themselves a golden calf to serve as their god. As a result, God gives a warning in 33:1-3: the people may go to the Promised Land, but God will not go with them. Why not? Because if a perfect God were to be in the presence of a sinful people, they would be consumed. At that disastrous word, Moses intercedes on behalf of God's people. As we study his intercession this Sunday, we will see a model for how we can speak to God with our requests.
