Strength in Weakness

Last week we saw Gideon called and commissioned to deliver Israel from the oppression of the Midianites. In our passage, we are going to see the deliverance, but it will happen in a way that is both surprising and encouraging to people of faith.  As we have seen, the  lessons in Judges are more instructive regarding the character and conduct of God with his people than in simply trying to mimic or trying to avoid the various judges studied. Today, we see how God uses our weakness, strengthens our weakness and then finally rewards weakness.  Again we will see God prove the words of Jesus in 2 Corinthians that His power is made perfect in weakness.
