Praising God in the City of God
Series: Psalms of the Sons of Korah
The Sons of Korah have had us on a pilgrimage of sorts. They’ve given us words to cry out to God in times of hardship, down in the valley. But now, the Psalmist has come to the holy mountain of God and His glorious city, the city of the great King. There the Lord reveals Himself to be a fortress for His people, but a terror to His enemies. The city’s glory reflects the God who dwells there. The city is none other than Jerusalem of the Psalmist’s day, yet at the same time he points to the new city to come, when God’s praise reaches to the ends of the earth.
