Longing For A New Heavens And New Earth

In last week’s passage, we saw the prophet Isaiah introduce the suffering servant who will one day bring redemption and salvation to God’s people. In this week’s passage, we will see Isaiah share the word of the Lord as the Lord speaks of His promise of creating a new heavens and a new earth for his chosen people. This passage teaches us that God’s new creation is worthy of our rejoicing, and it also shows us what life will be like for those who spend an eternity with God within his new creation. In this Advent season, let’s remind one another of Christ’s gracious work to come to earth to secure salvation for us, that we might worship and enjoy Him forever in the new heavens and new earth.
