Living by Witness and Word

In the past few weeks, Paul has warned Timothy of the difficulties to expect as a leader in the church: the false teaching, persecutions, and difficulties that will come with their empty religion and apathy towards God’s word. He encourages us to avoid them. In our passage, Paul calls Timothy to endure as a faithful minister in spite of difficulties. He offers two ways to persevere: first is to find and follow the lives of faithful witnesses, and second is to trust in the words of God in scriptures.
