Like Father, Like Son
Series: Genesis: The Beginning of a People
This chapter contains the bulk of what we know of Isaac's life. While he lives longer (180 years) than his father, Abraham, or his son, Jacob, he has the least written about him. The parallels between Abraham and Isaac are meant to show us the promises of God (Genesis 12) are being passed to Isaac who now stands in Abraham's place to be a blessing to the world. While in many ways, his life may seem ordinary, it instructs us not only in the life of faith, but in the faithfulness of God.
