Life in the Spirit
Series: Galatians: No Other Gospel
If you remember from last week, we rejoiced in the freedom Christ achieved by his death and resurrection. We found that this freedom was not political, economic, or even personal but freedom from the tyranny and bondage of the law. No longer do we need to attempt to be right with God on the basis of ritual, law, or tradition. Christ has freed our conscience from guilt and shame of sin. The Apostle Paul's first warning was to not reject freedom for legalism. This week, he exhorts the church to not misuse their freedom by living with license to sin. He will answer the question, "How then do we live in this freedom of the Spirit?" Life in the freedom of the Spirit is seen in serving others, crucifying the desires of the flesh, and bearing fruit of the Spirit.
