Help My Unbelief

This week we will be studying the cleansing of the boy with an unclean spirit. After the glory of Jesus was revealed through intense light in the transfiguration, He next encounters the intense darkness of demonic oppression. The scene begins with the frustration of the disciples and the scribes over their inability to help this young boy. Despite their efforts, the disciples were unable to cast the demon out. When Jesus arrives, the boy's father is desperate for help, but his faith is weak. Jesus stokes the faith of the father before casting out the demon and saving his son's life.
