Gaining a Greater Love

At another meal, we see a picture of true devotion and love. The story begins at the table of a Pharisee named Simon. Here, Jesus shows us how forgiveness of sins leads to deeper love and devotion for God. It is all too easy to assume others need God's grace and mercy more than we do. The spiritual irony is that as we discover our own sin and need for God's forgiveness, the more we can enjoy the love of God. So, growing in a deeper love comes by understanding our deeper need for Jesus.
