From Dust to Glory
Series: Genesis: The Beginning of Everything
In Genesis 1, we met a good God who made a very good creation. In Genesis 2, we do not find a second creation account by another author but a more nuanced and detailed account. If Genesis 1 is a high-level or cosmic view of creation, Genesis 2 narrows from creation of the cosmos to creation of humanity. It is a retelling of the creation of the man and woman (1.28) to establish their place in God’s world (Ross). In our passage, Moses speaks to the relationship between the man and woman and God. God's intention for us is to take us from dust to glory.
