From Death to Life
Series: Baptism
Most people love celebrations, whether Christmas, a birthday, or an anniversary. Today is a celebration where we will listen to and watch four people be baptized. To help us understand this unique celebration, we will step out of 2 Timothy for one week to look at Romans 6 at the meaning and joy of baptism. Up to this point, Paul has proven that though we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, God has given to us His Son Jesus as a sacrifice to bear our sins, suffer our punishment, die on a cross, and be raised to life, so that by faith in him we are reconciled with God and adopted as His sons and daughters. This passage from death to life is pictured in baptism.
