Eternality
Series: The Attributes of God

Psalm 90 is a song of Moses reflecting on the brevity of life and God's infinite nature. The second half of verse 2 provides a summary statement for the psalm: "From everlasting to everlasting, You are God". Yet, God's eternal nature does not merely mean that He does not have a beginning or an end; it also means that He does not change with time. God is not controlled by or subject to time as we creatures are. And yet, though God is outside of time, He enters into time to love, care for, and shepherd us. Though difficult to comprehend or wrap our minds around, God's eternal nature should comfort us because He knows the end from the beginning (Isa 46:10) and He will work all things according to the counsel of His will.
