Series: 2 Corinthians: A New Strength
As we continue our series in 2 Corinthians, Paul continues to appeal to the Corinthians regarding the markers of an authentic ministry. In the eyes of the world, suffering may be equated to failure or even falsehood. But Paul instructs the Corinthians that suffering validates the message of the Gospel and that they themselves have been blessed by the suffering that comes with proclaiming the Gospel through the ministry of Paul. Likewise, through afflictions and persecutions many come to faith to the thanksgiving and glory of God. We look forward to a day when our faith will be made sight, and our weak, ordinary outer selves will be exchanged for glory. This is not only grace for tomorrow, but renewing grace for each day to persevere by faith.
