Breakfast at the Beach

In the very last scene of John's gospel, after the resurrection, is a meal prepared by Jesus for a number of the disciples. It is not simply a beautiful story of Jesus again feeding his people, but also of restoring Peter, who had denied him the night before he was crucified. Jesus, filled with grace, commissions Peter and all the disciples to carry on the mission of feeding his sheep. In spite of great failure, Jesus stands ready to serve and draw us back into service for his name.
