Beholding the Risen One
Series: Easter Sermons
In the first chapter, the apostle John, while exiled on the Island of Patmos for preaching the gospel of Christ, sees a vision of Jesus, risen and glorious. In our passage, Jesus commissions John to write to a church struggling in a broken world, and gives him a vision to record that we might see and endure the trials we face because we know that Jesus is the Sovereign one. Jesus offers us a vision not simply of a gracious Savior but of a glorious King. Behold his glory and beauty so that you might with John and the saints through the ages worship him and enjoy him forever.
