All in the Family
Series: Genesis: The Beginning of a People
We continue our story of God's faithfulness to a wayward people. Last week, we saw how God advances His plan through ordinary and broken people. We see this again in even greater color as we move from Isaac's broken life to Isaac's broken family. This passage does not simply describe how deception and poor parenting can bring ill to a family, but how failing to trust God and taking matters into our own hands can lead to human tragedy. This story is meant to shock us. Yet in the end, we see that God's plan will not be thwarted despite human sin and corruption. This is true both in God's plan for the world and in our personal lives.
