A Satisfying Feast
Series: Dining with Jesus
In our passage, we see Jesus host an incredible banquet for many many people. His choice of location is none other than the wilderness. Yet it is in the desolation of the wilderness that we see not only his compassion, but also his power and glory as he multiplies the loaves and fishes, feeding thousands. This is called a miracle story. A miracle story is intended to reveal Jesus as King and worthy of our full worship and faith. In this miracle of the loaves and fishes, Jesus is revealed as one who is sufficient and can provide rest and deliverance in the harshness of the wilderness of life. Jesus is a beacon of hope for all who come to him as he alone can satisfy and save.
