Pressing for the Prize
November 9, 2025
Following Paul’s commendation of intimate knowledge of Christ over self-righteousness, he now turns to the Philippians and exhorts them to press on in their knowledge of the Lord. Instead of setting our minds and hearts on the things of this world, we are to look to the day when we will see Him face to face. Setting this vision before us motivates us toward holiness and calls us to imitate those who have walked this path well. This eternal perspective and spiritual hunger for Christ are necessary, as our true home and country are in heaven, and we journey toward it as pilgrims in this world, patiently waiting for the appearance of our Savior.
