Christ is the Sovereign King

This week, we are going to step out from any particular series and spend our time meditating on Christ. Coming off our Advent series where we looked at why and how Christ came, it seems fitting to step back from the birth narrative and behold the glory of Christ. Read through Colossians 1:15-20. Most scholars believe this was a Christ hymn that the early church used to remind themselves and one another who their savior was. As you read, try to identify all the different characteristics attributed to Jesus. If you do worship prep with your family or with a group, each person can pick a different one and discuss its significance. Let us be a church who is growing up in every way into our head, into Christ (Ephesians 4).
