In our passage today, we will look at a further decline in the affections and obedience of God's people. Through the lives of Gideon and his son, Abimelech, we see that for the first time, Israel begins to backslide even during the reign of a judge. Gideon, after such a glorious victory begins to stumble and fall, taking a whole people with him. What are the root causes for such a failed ending?
