Prepare for Sunday morning worship by using the guide below.
1 Peter 4:7-11
7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Summary: This week, we continue our study of the "one another" passages by looking at hospitality. The Bible, from beginning to end, teaches about and provides us with models for hospitality. In the garden of Eden we see God provide a home and food for Adam and Eve, and in Revelation we see that God will one day prepare a great feast for us as He welcomes us into His presence for all eternity. But how are we called to show hospitality right now? And what is the purpose of being hospitable? This Sunday, we will look at 1 Peter 4:7-11 to try to see the motivation for this "one another" while also considering how we ought to practice it.
Review and Apply
When you hear the word "hospitality", what is the first thought that comes to your mind?
How does God's love for you provide for us a model of hospitality to one another?
Did you grow up in a home that modeled hospitality well, or not? How has that impacted your practice now?
Peter says we are to practice hospitality "without grumbling." Why do you think he felt a need to include that? Are you tempted to grumble about being hospitable?
Spend some time considering what ways you can either grow in or persevere in hospitality. Pray that God would give you joy in loving your brothers and sisters in how you practice hospitality.
