September 3 - Prayers of Paul (Colossians 4:2-4)
Prepare for Sunday morning worship using the guide below.
We will continue a series based on God's Big Picture: Tracing the Story Line of the Bible, this Sunday in the youth room. This study will focus on the coherency of the Bible, following the specific theme kingdom of God and showing Christ as unifying subject and focus of the Bible. Ray Rutledge and Bo Pritchard will be in the Adult 1 classroom continuing through The Gospel Project (currently going through the New Testament).
2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
This week we will be looking at how Paul asked the church to pray for the work of the gospel among the unreached. 1) God must move causing there to be opportunities to share the gospel with people who desire to hear. 2) God must also move to uphold the ministers of the gospel who work in difficult circumstances so that they are empowered to preach the gospel with clarity.
We will take a closer look at the opportunities and challenges of gospel ministry among the Box and U of East Asia. By God’s grace we will be encouraged to pray more biblically and with greater knowledge of the actual challenges facing gospel ministry among the unreached.
